practicalities of visionary centers

A friend asked about the practicalities of a global change community, here is a small response.

well the vision is to create a community dedicated to making the word better,

we are creating a conscious civisation,
so any positive things we would do for ourselves,
we can do commercially.

well, to start we share the vision,
asking expressions of interests,
then set up centers depending on:
who is interested,
where they are,
how much we can collaboratively invest,

so, depending on who joins will will find the most effective ways to make money,
books, films, music
training seminars and retreats,
inspiring clothes,

the vision is the idea of consciously creating the most amazing life we can,
thats got to be appealing to a lot of people.
so we find some great animators and editors to make 3 minute viral videos,
encouraging people to remix it and really share the vision for creating awesome communities.
Encouraging people to sign up,
then we choose who, where, etc...

and when there are enough people, we can organise other centers based on different ideals or locations for different people

Food...
depending on the situation, we get some permaculturalists to move in and we grow our own.

how are we going to finance the eco-mansions, the films, the community...

well, when our group is large enough,
we set up a center, and as long as we have a profitible business model,
ie. show that we can make money running seminars and renting the communal space,
then it is easy enough to get finance, especially if 'we' are willing to put some of our own money in to it.

people start businesses every day,
films get funding from grant bodies all the time,
financing the community - its a place to live and work.

Also, we make money from the many forms of income that the people moving in already have - writing work, computer work, design work... local jobs.

And they can put some towards the people doing work within the community, like the food gardners and the trainers.
